I loved the Cyclone! Today we went to Coney Island and rode the famous rollercoaster The Cyclone and the famous Ferris wheel the Wonder Wheel.
The Cyclone was built in 1927. Its first ride was June 26, 1927. It does six 180 degree turns, twelve drops, sixteen changes of direction, eighteen track crossovers, 27 elevation changes, and it goes 60mph, all in 1 minute and 50 seconds! We were the first riders of the day. Mom had to ride twice, once with me and once with Chris. At the first and highest drop, I was pretty scared, so I closed my eyes. But as it got closer to the end of the ride, the drops got smaller and smaller, so I was okay after the first one and I was able to look after that. It was awesome!
The Wonder Wheel is not like other Ferris wheels I have been on. It has two sets of cages. The cages on the outside don't move, but the cages in the inner ring swing and slide. It was almost like another rollercoaster, but not quite as good. It was fun.
Mom also let us go on the bumper cars. They were really fun.
We also went to the New York Aquarium which is at Coney Island. They had walruses. There was a baby walrus named Aki. I don't think walruses are very cute. There were also penguins (my favorite), sea lions, otters, and a tank with sharks, rays, a turtle, and other fish that was supposed to be like Glover's Reef in Belize. I have actually been to Glover's Reef on our last cruise.

Today we got tickets for Mary Pippins, a musical on Broadway. It was awesome. At the end, Mary Poppins flew right over our seats! The actors and actresses were very good at their job. I have nothing else to say, except ... supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! I am happy.©

Today we hung out, played, and, as you might have guessed, worked on the website. The website is almost finished. I took my Jenga cubes and made a palace hall. I put my soldiers into it and then the enemy soldiers came and blew it up. I had fun. I am happy.©

Dad came home today! It has been two weeks, so I am glad. Unfortunately, Dad will leave for another week on Monday, the 21st. There is a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is that Dad barely travels; the bad thing is that when he does, it is for one to three weeks at a time.
Grandma joined us and we went to Ellis Island. We stood on line for a long time. At Ellis Island, we took a good tour. It took us on the first and second floor and the guide explained everything to us. We also watched a short movie, but it was basically what we had just learned on the tour, just with pictures.
Ellis Island is where the immigrants cleared into the United States. But only the 3rd class passengers had to come here. The 1st and 2nd class passengers were assumed to be healthy because they had enough money to buy better tickets. So they were just let into the US. This was actually mistake because people knew about this. So, if there was someone in the family that might have a disease or there was some reason the family was afraid they would not pass the inspections, the family would buy that person a 1st or 2nd class ticket to get them around Ellis Island and into the country. I learned that only 2% of the people were deported (sent back). Sometimes on busy days, if a doctor thought something was wrong with someone and that person could not speak English to communicate with the doctor, he was just deported because they didn't have time to get an interpreter. That is sad.
We also saw the Wall of Honor. It has names of people who came over to the U.S. My great-grandpa came, so we found his name. I am happy.©

Dad's colleague invited us to breakfast at a nearby diner. I ordered three huge pancakes drenched in pure maple syrup with bacon on the side. I overstuffed myself 'cause I ate the last bite. I couldn't help it.
After a good stuffing, we walked all the way across Central Park to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I was sick. First, we looked at the Egyptian exhibit. We saw mummies and mummified animals. We also saw the temple of Dendor, about 2023 years old (15B.C.).
We also saw some paintings by Picasso, Dali, Matisse and other artists. I am not really into art, but here I actually saw some paintings that were interesting. My favorite painting was "The Death of Socrates." I have read about Socrates in my history book.
After the museum, we played catch in the park. I am happy.©

I woke up at 5:51am because of the Triathlon. The people swim, bike and run. They swam right by our boat! It was cool.
We got to church for the 11:00am service (lucky us, because we were running late). It is the same church we went to on 7/6/08. After service, we met a pastor from Christ the King Lutheran Church in Houston, TX.
When we left the church, we went to Central Park to play. Chris, Dad and I played catch on a nice lawn, while Mom talked on the phone. It started to rain, so we left and went to lunch. Today is my last day with Dad until he leaves again I am happy.©

Dad left again! We went to a pizza place for lunch with him and then he left. We (Mom, Chris and I) headed for Central Park. Chris flew a kite while I watched a softball game. Then his kite stopped because the wind died, so he played catch with me for a bit. I am happy.©
