Dave had a busy period of work and we decided to spend the summer in our nation's capitol, Washington DC, where Skadden has a big office. We had a wonderful time. We took in so many sights and saw so many friends. We also made many new friends.
We arrived in Washington DC just in time to celebrate the 4th of July.
Monuments and Memorials mark our nation's history. They also make a wonderful walking tour of the city.

Arlington National Cemetery.
Our government buildings are absolutely beautiful. The architecture of our nation's capitol rivals any European city.
There are so many wonderful museums in Washington DC - and most of them are free! We enjoyed as many as we could.
The Capital Yacht Club was our base while we were in Washington DC. The members made us feel very welcome and included us in their many weekly activities.
Chris and Josh were invited to crew for the Tuesday night races. Everyone had a lot of fun!
We started the day with a reading of the Declaration of Independence by Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson
We ended the day with fireworks over the Mall, watched from atop Skadden's office building
